Getting Started

Prepare your headset for first use.

  1. Charge the headset: Connect the USB cable to the charging port and a power source. The indicator light will glow amber while charging and turn off when fully charged.
  2. Select eartips: Choose the StayHear+ tip size that provides a secure and comfortable seal.
  3. Power on: Slide the Power/Bluetooth button to the right and hold for 2 seconds. You will hear a voice prompt.
  4. Pair with your device: Follow the pairing instructions in Section 6.

CAUTION! Ensure the headset is fully charged before first use for optimal performance.

Pairing and Connectivity

Connect to Bluetooth-enabled devices like smartphones, tablets, or computers.

  1. Turn on the headset and ensure it's in pairing mode (slow blinking blue light).
  2. On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Bose QuietControl 30" from the list.
  4. If prompted, enter the passkey "0000".
  5. For NFC pairing, tap the headset's NFC area (marked) to the NFC spot on your compatible device.

Tip: To connect to a second device, put the first device's Bluetooth in standby and pair normally with the second. Use the Bose Connect app to manage connections.

Using the Bose Connect App

Download the Bose Connect app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  1. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your headset.
  2. Manage Bluetooth connections and switch between paired devices.
  3. Adjust noise cancellation levels with a slider.
  4. Rename your headset for easy identification.
  5. Check battery level.
  6. Install firmware updates when available.

WARNING! Ensure your mobile device has a stable internet connection for app setup and updates.

Adjusting Noise Cancellation

Use the dedicated QC button on the control module or the Bose Connect app.

  1. Press the QC button to cycle through preset levels: High, Low, and Off (Awareness mode).
  2. For fine-grained control, use the slider in the Bose Connect app.
  3. In Awareness mode (Off), you can hear your surroundings for safety during walks or conversations.

Note: Noise cancellation is most effective for consistent, low-frequency sounds like airplane engines or air conditioners.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the charging cable before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the neckband and earbuds. Do not use liquids or solvents.

CAUTION! Do not immerse any part of the headset in water. Avoid extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Store in the provided case when not in use.

Troubleshooting
