Installation & Setup

Follow these steps to connect the adapter to your Bose Wave 3 system.

  1. Power off your Bose Wave 3 system before connecting cables.
  2. Connect the 3.5mm audio cable from the adapter's AUDIO OUT port to the AUX IN port on the back of your Bose Wave 3.
  3. Connect the USB power cable to the adapter's MICRO-USB port and to a powered USB port (wall adapter or USB hub).
  4. Power on your Bose Wave 3 system and set the source selector to "AUX".
  5. The adapter's LED will illuminate, indicating it is powered and ready for pairing.

Controls and Indicators

The adapter has one physical button and a multi-color LED indicator.

Power/Pairing Button: Press and hold for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. Press briefly to power on/off (if supported by model).

LED Status Indicators: - Solid Blue: Powered on and connected to a device. - Flashing Blue: In pairing mode, ready to connect. - Solid Red: Charging (if battery model). - Flashing Red: Low battery or connection error. - Off: No power or in standby mode.

Pairing with Devices

To stream audio, pair the adapter with your Bluetooth device.

  1. Ensure the adapter is powered and the LED is flashing blue (if not, press and hold the button for 5 seconds).
  2. On your smartphone/tablet/computer, go to Bluetooth settings and turn Bluetooth ON.
  3. Select "Bose Wave 3 Adapter" from the list of available devices.
  4. If prompted, enter pairing code "0000" (four zeros).
  5. Once connected, the LED will turn solid blue and you will hear a confirmation tone (if enabled).

Tip: For subsequent use, the adapter will automatically reconnect to the last paired device when both are powered on and in range.

Operation & Playback

Once paired, you can stream audio from your device.

  1. Ensure your Bose Wave 3 is set to AUX input.
  2. Play audio on your Bluetooth device (music app, video, etc.).
  3. Control playback (play/pause, skip, volume) directly from your source device.
  4. To switch between two paired devices, pause playback on the first device and start playback on the second; the adapter will automatically switch.
  5. To disconnect, turn off Bluetooth on your device or power off the adapter.

WARNING! Do not expose the adapter to extreme temperatures or moisture. Keep away from other wireless devices that may cause interference.

Care & Maintenance
