Controls and Connections

The VCS-10 is a passive speaker with no onboard controls. All adjustments are made through your AV receiver.

Connections: High-quality binding post terminals (red/black) for speaker wire.

Receiver Settings: Access your receiver's menu to adjust center channel level, distance (delay), crossover, and equalization. Ensure center channel is set to "Small" if using a subwoofer for optimal bass management.

Connecting to Your System

Integrate with your existing home theater or audio system.

  1. Turn off and unplug all components.
  2. Run speaker wire from the CENTER output on your receiver to the VCS-10 terminals.
  3. Ensure polarity is correct (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  4. Secure connections and tuck wires away safely.
  5. Power on receiver and select a source with center channel audio.

Tip: Use high-quality, appropriately gauged speaker wire for best performance.

Operation and Calibration

For optimal dialogue clarity and system integration.

  1. Level Matching: Use your receiver's test tone to match the center channel volume to your front left/right speakers.
  2. Crossover Setting: Set center channel crossover to 80Hz (THX standard) or as recommended by your receiver's calibration.
  3. Distance/Delay: Input the physical distance from the listening position to the center speaker in your receiver's setup.
  4. EQ Adjustments: Fine-tune using your receiver's equalizer if dialogue sounds thin or harsh.
  5. Listening Test: Play movie content with heavy dialogue to verify clarity and balance.

WARNING! Avoid driving the speaker at excessively high volumes for prolonged periods to prevent damage.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug system before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to dust the enclosure. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen cloth with water only.
