System Requirements & Unboxing

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place speaker on a stable, level surface.

  1. Requirements: A broadband internet connection, Wi-Fi router (802.11 b/g/n), and an iOS or Android device for the SoundTouch app.
  2. Unboxing: Remove the SoundTouch speaker, power cord, remote control (if included), and any other accessories.
  3. Placement: For best sound quality, place the speaker at least 1 foot from walls and other objects.

WARNING! Do not place the speaker in humid areas or near heat sources. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked.

Initial Setup & App Installation

Power on the speaker; follow the guided setup in the SoundTouch app.

  1. Download the Bose SoundTouch app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Connect the speaker to power. The indicator light will pulse white.
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the speaker to your Wi-Fi network. You may use the included Ethernet cable for a temporary wired connection during setup.
  4. Log in or create a Bose account when prompted.
  5. Add your preferred music services (Spotify, Amazon Music, etc.) within the app.

CAUTION! Use only the provided Bose power supply. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is operating correctly before setup.

Controls and Indicators

Access primary controls via the SoundTouch app, the top panel buttons, or the included remote.

Top Panel/Remote: POWER, PRESET (1-6), VOLUME UP/DOWN, MUTE, AUX, BLUETOOTH.

Indicator Lights: - Solid White: Power on, connected. - Pulsing White: Ready for setup. - Amber/Yellow: Network issue or update in progress. - Red: Error condition.

App Controls: Source selection (Streaming Service, Internet Radio, Aux, Bluetooth), Browse music, Manage Presets, Create Multi-Room Groups, Adjust EQ (Bass/Treble), Set Sleep Timer.

Connecting to Your Network

For optimal performance, ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal. Use Ethernet for a more stable connection if needed.

  1. Open the SoundTouch app and go to Settings > Add New Product.
  2. Follow the prompts. If using Wi-Fi, have your network name (SSID) and password ready.
  3. For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable from your router to the speaker's port before starting setup.
  4. The app will confirm when the speaker is successfully connected to your network and the internet.

Tip: If experiencing Wi-Fi dropouts, try moving the speaker closer to your router or use the 5 GHz band if available.

Playing Music & Managing Presets

Stream music from services, internet radio, or your local library.

  1. Select a Source: In the app, tap "Music" and choose a service, "Internet Radio," "Aux," or "Bluetooth."
  2. Browse & Play: Navigate to an album, playlist, or station and tap to play.
  3. Presets: Save your favorite music to a preset. Press and hold a numbered PRESET button (on speaker, remote, or in the app) while music is playing to save the current selection.
  4. Play a Preset: Simply tap or press the corresponding PRESET button (1-6).
  5. Volume: Adjust using the app, remote, or top panel buttons.
  6. Sleep Timer: Set in the app under Settings > Sleep Timer.

WARNING! Do not disconnect power during a firmware update. Updates are delivered automatically over Wi-Fi.

Multi-Room Audio Setup

Play synchronized audio in different rooms.

  1. Ensure all SoundTouch speakers are set up on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. In the SoundTouch app, tap the "Groups" icon (speakers with a + sign).
  3. Tap "Create New Group," then select the speakers you want to include.
  4. Name your group (e.g., "Downstairs").
  5. Select this group as your playback device to play music on all grouped speakers simultaneously.

Note: You can also adjust individual speaker volumes within a group.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquids, sprays, or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to enter any openings. Keep the speaker away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
