Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface.

  1. Choose location: Place near a power outlet and within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  2. Connect power: Plug the power cord into the system and then into a wall outlet.
  3. Connect to network (optional): Use an Ethernet cable to connect the Ethernet port to your router for initial setup or stable connection.
  4. Connect auxiliary device (optional): Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect an external player to the AUX IN jack.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Use two people for handling if needed.

First-Time Configuration

Power on the system; the status light will flash. Follow these steps to connect to your network.

  1. Download the SoundTouch app: Available for iOS and Android from app stores.
  2. Launch the app and follow prompts: The app will guide you through connecting the system to your Wi-Fi network.
  3. Set up music services: Log in to your streaming accounts (e.g., Spotify, Amazon Music) within the app.

Connecting to Your Network

Wi-Fi is the primary connection method. For best results, ensure a strong signal.

  1. Ensure the system is powered on and in setup mode (flashing status light).
  2. Open the SoundTouch app on your mobile device.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  4. The app will confirm when the connection is successful.

Tip: If Wi-Fi setup fails, use the Ethernet cable for a wired connection during setup, then switch to Wi-Fi.

Playing Music

Stream from Wi-Fi services, Bluetooth devices, or the auxiliary input.

  1. Select a source: Press the SOURCE button on the remote or in the app to choose Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Aux.
  2. Wi-Fi Streaming: Use the app to browse music services, select a station, playlist, or album, and press play.
  3. Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth on your device, select "Bose SoundTouch 30" from the list. Play audio from your device.
  4. Auxiliary: Connect your device with a cable. Select 'Aux' as the source. Control playback from the connected device.
  5. Using Presets: Press any of the 6 preset buttons on the system or remote to instantly play your saved music.

WARNING! Do not expose the system to liquids. Keep the ventilation openings free of obstruction.

Multi-Room Audio

Group multiple SoundTouch speakers to play the same music in sync throughout your home.

  1. Ensure all speakers are set up on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the SoundTouch app and go to the 'Speakers' section.
  3. Select 'Create a Group' and choose the speakers you want to include.
  4. Play music; it will stream to all speakers in the group.

You can also play different music on different speakers independently.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquids, sprays, or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Do not allow liquids to enter any openings. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
