Initial Setup & Charging

Before first use, fully charge the speaker.

  1. Connect the USB cable to the speaker's Micro-USB port.
  2. Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet (100-240V, 50/60Hz).
  3. Charge until the battery indicator shows solid green (approx. 3 hours).
  4. Power on the speaker by pressing and holding the Power/Bluetooth button.
  5. Listen for the voice prompt indicating power on and battery level.

CAUTION! Use only the provided Bose power adapter. Do not expose speaker to extreme temperatures while charging.

Pairing with Bluetooth Devices

To stream audio wirelessly from your phone, tablet, or computer.

  1. Turn on the SoundLink speaker (press and hold Power button).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your source device (phone, tablet, etc.).
  3. On the speaker, press the Power/Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode (voice prompt: "Ready to pair", LED flashes blue).
  4. On your device, select "Bose SoundLink" from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
  5. Listen for the voice prompt "Connected to [device name]".
  6. For a second device, put first device's Bluetooth off, then repeat steps 2-5. Speaker remembers two devices.

Tip: To clear all paired devices, press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button for 10 seconds until you hear "Bluetooth device list cleared".

Using the Speakerphone

When a paired phone receives a call, audio automatically routes to the speaker.

  1. Incoming Call: Speaker will ring. Press the Power/Bluetooth button once to answer.
  2. During Call: Use the speaker's microphone to talk. Adjust volume with +/- buttons.
  3. End Call: Press the Power/Bluetooth button once to hang up.
  4. Reject Call: Press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button for 2 seconds.
  5. To switch audio back to your phone, select "Phone" as the audio source on your device.

WARNING! For best microphone performance, keep the speaker within 2 feet during calls and avoid covering the microphone area.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug charger before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols.

Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge battery to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 6 months.

CAUTION! Do not expose speaker to rain, moisture, or extreme heat. Do not attempt to disassemble or replace the battery.
