Getting Started

Prepare your speaker for first use.

  1. Charge the speaker: Connect the USB cable to the speaker's Micro-USB port and the wall charger. Plug into a power outlet. The battery indicator will pulse white while charging and glow solid white when fully charged.
  2. Power on: Press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button until you hear the power-on tone and the voice prompt says "Ready to connect".
  3. Initial pairing: Follow the instructions in the "Pairing Your Device" section.

WARNING! Use only the provided or Bose-approved charging accessories. Keep speaker away from extreme heat or cold.

Controls and Indicators

All controls are located on the top of the speaker.

Power/Bluetooth Button: Press and hold to turn on/off. Press briefly to enter pairing mode (when on). LED blinks blue when in pairing mode.

Volume Buttons (+/-): Adjust speaker volume. Also controls volume of a paired phone during a call.

Multi-function Button: - Press once to play/pause music. - Press once to answer an incoming call. Press again to end the call. - Press and hold to reject an incoming call. - Double-press to skip to the next track. - Triple-press to go back to the previous track. - Press and hold to activate your device's voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant).

Battery Indicator LED: - Solid White: Fully charged. - Pulsing White: Charging. - Solid Amber: Medium charge. - Solid Red: Low battery. - Blinking Red: Critical battery, needs charging.

Pairing Your Device

Connect your Bluetooth device to the speaker.

  1. Turn on the speaker. You will hear "Ready to connect" and the Bluetooth LED will blink blue.
  2. On your smartphone/tablet/computer, enable Bluetooth in the settings menu.
  3. Select "Bose SoundLink Colour" from the list of available devices.
  4. If prompted, enter the PIN '0000'. You will hear "Connected to [device name]" upon success.

To pair an additional device: With the speaker on and connected to one device, press the Power/Bluetooth button briefly. The speaker enters pairing mode. Follow steps 2-4 on the new device. The speaker can remember up to 8 devices.

To switch between paired devices: Disconnect Bluetooth from the currently connected device or turn its Bluetooth off. On the desired device, select "Bose SoundLink Colour" from its Bluetooth menu.

Wired Connection: Use a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to connect the AUX input on the speaker to the headphone jack of your audio source.

Using the Speakerphone

The built-in microphone allows for hands-free calls.

  1. When a call comes in to your paired phone, the speaker will ring.
  2. Press the Multi-function button once to answer the call. Audio will route through the speaker.
  3. During the call, use the speaker's Volume buttons to adjust the call volume.
  4. Press the Multi-function button once to end the call.
  5. To reject a call, press and hold the Multi-function button.

NOTE: For optimal microphone performance, place the speaker within 2 feet (0.6 m) of you and avoid covering the microphone area.

Battery and Charging

The rechargeable battery provides hours of wireless playback.

CAUTION! Do not attempt to replace the battery. The battery is not user-serviceable. For battery service, contact Bose support.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug charging cable before cleaning.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  2. Grille: Use a soft brush or a can of compressed air to remove dust from the speaker grille.
  3. Ports: Keep the Micro-USB and AUX ports free of debris.

WARNING! The speaker is splash resistant (IPX4), not waterproof. Do not submerge in water. Do not use near swimming pools, in the shower, or in heavy rain. Do not charge the speaker if it is wet.

Troubleshooting
