Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Connect power adapter: Plug adapter into AC outlet, then connect to SoundDock power port.
  2. Dock iPod/iPhone: Remove any protective case, align connector, and insert device into dock.
  3. Connect auxiliary source (optional): Use 3.5mm audio cable from source to AUX IN jack.
  4. Position system: Ensure adequate ventilation; keep away from heat sources and moisture.

WARNING! Use only Bose-approved power adapter. Do not block vents to prevent overheating.

First-Time Setup

Power on system; follow indicator lights.

  1. Power connection: Ensure AC adapter is securely connected to outlet and SoundDock.
  2. Dock device: Insert iPod/iPhone; charging should begin automatically (indicator lights).
  3. Select source: System defaults to docked device; press AUX on remote for auxiliary input.
  4. Adjust volume: Start at low volume, then increase to desired level.

CAUTION! Ensure device is properly seated in dock to avoid connection issues.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary controls via remote; limited front-panel buttons. Remote: POWER, VOLUME UP/DOWN, PLAY/PAUSE, PREV/NEXT (track), AUX (input select).

System Indicators: LED indicates power (green) and charging status (amber/green for docked device).

Connecting Devices

iPod/iPhone: Direct dock connection. Auxiliary: 3.5mm cable from source to AUX IN.

  1. Turn off SoundDock before connecting/disconnecting devices.

  3. For AUX: Use quality audio cable; ensure secure connection at both ends.

Tip: For best audio quality, use the dock connection when possible.

Playing Music

Supports playback from docked iPod/iPhone or auxiliary source.

  1. Power on: Press POWER on remote; indicator lights green.
  2. Start playback: On docked device, select music and press PLAY; or use remote PLAY.
  3. Control playback: Use remote for PLAY/PAUSE, PREV/NEXT track.

WARNING! Do not remove device while it is actively charging or playing without pausing first.

Remote Control

Infrared remote requires line-of-sight to front of SoundDock. Functions: POWER, VOLUME, PLAY/PAUSE, TRACK navigation, AUX input selection.

Battery: Uses CR2032 coin cell battery (included). Replace by sliding cover off rear of remote.

Range: Effective up to approximately 20 feet (6 meters) in typical conditions.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug power adapter before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth for exterior. For dock connector, use compressed air to remove dust; do not use liquids.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep system away from liquids and extreme temperatures.
