Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place the system on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Choose the correct dock insert for your iPod or iPhone model and snap it into place.
  2. Connect the AC power adapter to the DC power input on the back of the SoundDock and plug it into a wall outlet.
  3. The battery will begin charging. The battery indicator LED will illuminate.
  4. For first-time Bluetooth pairing, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the indicator flashes.

WARNING! Use only the provided Bose power adapter. Ensure the system is placed on a dry surface away from liquids.

First-Time Use

Power on the system and follow these steps to begin playback.

  1. Press the Power button on the top of the unit or the remote control.
  2. To dock a device: Gently place your iPod or iPhone into the dock. It should begin charging and playback may start automatically.
  3. For Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth on your source device, select "Bose SoundDock 10" from the list of available devices.
  4. Use the Volume buttons on the remote or unit to adjust the sound level to your preference.

CAUTION! Do not force your device into the dock. Ensure the correct insert is used to avoid damage.

Access all functions via the top-panel buttons or the included remote control.

Connecting Devices

Dock: Use appropriate insert. Bluetooth: Pair via device settings. Aux: Use 3.5mm cable.

  1. Ensure the SoundDock is powered on.
  2. For Dock: Insert device directly.
  3. For Bluetooth: Press Bluetooth button, select "Bose SoundDock 10" on your device.
  4. For Aux: Connect cable from your device's headphone jack to the Aux input on the SoundDock. Press SOURCE on remote to select "Aux".

Tip: The system can remember multiple paired Bluetooth devices. The last connected device will usually reconnect automatically.

Playing Music

Supports playback from docked iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth devices, and auxiliary input.

  1. Select Source: Use the SOURCE button on the remote to cycle between Dock, Bluetooth, and Aux.
  2. Playback Control: Use PLAY/PAUSE and TRACK SKIP buttons on the remote. For docked devices, you can also control playback from the device itself.
  3. Volume: Adjust using the buttons on the remote or the top panel.
  4. Mute: Press the MUTE button on the remote. Press again or adjust volume to unmute.

WARNING! Do not expose the system to high volumes for extended periods to avoid hearing damage.

Battery & Power

The built-in battery charges whenever the AC power adapter is connected.

Battery Indicator: Green (75-100%), Amber (25-75%), Red (below 25%). Flashing Red indicates critically low battery.

Portable Use: Unplug the power adapter to use the system on battery power. The battery indicator shows remaining charge.

Conserving Battery: Lower volume levels and disable unnecessary device features (like screen brightness) to extend playback time.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the power adapter before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquids or aerosols.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Keep the dock connector and ports free of dust and debris. Store in a cool, dry place.
