Initial Setup & Placement

For optimal performance, follow these placement guidelines.

  1. Place centrally: Position the soundbar directly below or above your TV, centered horizontally.
  2. Ensure clear path: Leave space in front of the soundbar for unobstructed sound projection.
  3. Wall mounting: Use the provided template to mark drill holes. Secure the brackets and hang the soundbar.
  4. Connect power: Plug the power cable into the soundbar and a wall outlet.
  5. Initial power on: The soundbar will enter setup mode (indicator light will flash).

CAUTION! Do not block the top or front grille. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.

Top Panel (Touch Controls): Power, Bluetooth, Input Select, Volume Up/Down, Mute. Front LED Indicator: Shows power, input, and connection status.

Remote: POWER, INPUT (cycles through sources), VOLUME, MUTE, PRESETS (1-6), PLAY/PAUSE, SKIP, Bluetooth Pair, SoundTouch App Shortcut.

SoundTouch App: Primary interface for music streaming, source selection, grouping speakers, adjusting bass/treble, and managing presets. LED Indicators: Solid white (power on), flashing white (setup/update), amber (standby/muted), flashing amber (error/requires attention).

Connecting to Your TV & Sources

For best results, use HDMI ARC. Otherwise, use the optical connection.

  1. Turn off your TV and soundbar before making connections.
  2. HDMI ARC (Recommended): Connect the HDMI cable from the soundbar's HDMI ARC port to your TV's HDMI ARC port. Enable HDMI-CEC/ARC in your TV's audio settings.
  3. Optical Audio: Connect the optical cable from the soundbar's OPTICAL input to your TV's optical output. Select 'TV' as the soundbar input.
  4. Other Sources: Connect devices (Blu-ray, game console) directly to your TV's HDMI inputs. Audio will pass to the soundbar via ARC or optical.
  5. Power on devices and select the correct input on the soundbar (TV for ARC/optical).

Tip: If using HDMI ARC, a single remote (your TV remote) can often control the soundbar's power and volume.

Using the SoundTouch App

Download the Bose SoundTouch app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  1. Setup: Open the app and follow prompts to connect the soundbar to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Music Services: Log in to your streaming accounts (Spotify, Amazon Music, etc.) within the app.
  3. Presets: Assign your favorite playlists, stations, or albums to the 6 preset buttons on the remote or app.
  4. Multi-room: Group the SoundTouch 300 with other Bose SoundTouch speakers to play music in sync throughout your home.
  5. Settings: Adjust bass, treble, dialogue clarity, and update firmware.

WARNING! Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the soundbar for app control.

Voice Assistant Setup

The SoundTouch 300 does not have built-in microphones. It works with external voice assistant devices.

  1. Connect a compatible device (Amazon Echo, Google Home) to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. In the voice assistant's app (Alexa or Google Home), discover and add the Bose SoundTouch 300 as a speaker.
  3. You can now say, "Alexa, play jazz on the living room soundbar."

Note: Voice commands for power, volume, and input selection may also be available depending on integration.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the soundbar before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use solvents or abrasives.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to enter the ports or openings. Do not use compressed air to clean the grille.
