Unpacking and Inspection

Connecting Audio Sources

Connect microphones, instruments, or playback devices to the input channels.

  1. Turn MASTER VOLUME down and power off the system before connecting.
  2. Microphones: Use XLR cable into Channel input; set switch to MIC.
  3. Instruments (e.g., guitar, keyboard): Use ¼" cable; set switch to LINE.
  4. Playback Devices (e.g., phone, laptop): Use ⅛" to dual ¼" or XLR cable into a channel set to LINE.
  5. After connections, power on the system and slowly raise MASTER VOLUME.

Tip: Start with all channel volumes at minimum. Use the LINK output to daisy-chain a second L1 system or an additional Bose subwoofer.

Operating the System

Power on sequence and basic operation for optimal sound.

  1. Power On: Ensure MASTER VOLUME is down. Flip POWER switch on base module rear.
  2. Set Channel Levels: Start with source, then raise channel volume to desired mix level.
  3. Set Master Level: Raise MASTER VOLUME to achieve overall room volume.
  4. Adjust Tone: Use global BASS/TREBLE and per-channel TONE to shape sound.
  5. Muting: Use optional remote MUTE or turn MASTER VOLUME down quickly.
  6. Power Off: Lower MASTER VOLUME, then turn POWER switch off.

WARNING! Avoid turning the system on with volume high to prevent speaker damage and loud pops. Never expose the system to rain or moisture.

Tonal Adjustments & Presets

Optimize sound for different sources and rooms.

Channel TONE Knob: Adjusts midrange character. Center position is flat. Turn clockwise for more presence (vocals), counter-clockwise for warmer sound (acoustic guitar).

Global BASS/TREBLE: Affects all channels. Adjust to suit room acoustics.

Care & Maintenance
