Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Choose a stable location near your TV.

  1. Place Bass Module: Position on floor near wall, away from corners for optimal bass.
  2. Position Satellite Speakers: Place on either side of TV, at ear level when seated. Can be wall-mounted.
  3. Connect Speakers to Bass Module: Use provided color-coded speaker wires (red to red, black to black).
  4. Connect Power: Plug bass module and satellite power cords into electrical outlet.

WARNING! Ensure all power cords are securely connected and not pinched. Do not place bass module in enclosed cabinet.

First-Time Setup

Power on the system; the status light on the bass module will illuminate.

  1. Connect to TV: Use the optical digital audio cable (preferred) or analog audio cable from your TV's audio output to the corresponding input on the bass module.
  2. Configure TV Audio: Set your TV's audio output to "External Speakers" or "Optical Out" and disable its internal speakers.
  3. Test Sound: Play content from your TV. Adjust volume using the Bose remote.
  4. Remote Setup (Optional): Program the universal remote to control your TV's basic power and volume.

CAUTION! Handle speakers with care. The bass module is heavy; lift properly to avoid injury.

Controls and Settings

Primary controls are on the remote. Bass module has a power button and status light.

Remote: POWER, VOLUME UP/DOWN, MUTE, INPUT (Optical/Analog), DIALOGUE (Enhancement On/Off).

System Settings: Controlled via remote. INPUT selects between Optical and Analog sources. DIALOGUE button toggles speech clarity enhancement. Volume adjusts overall level; bass response is automatically managed by the system.

Connecting to Your TV

Optical Connection (Recommended): Provides best audio quality.

  1. Locate the optical audio output on your TV.
  2. Connect one end of the optical cable to the TV, the other to the "OPTICAL" input on the bass module.
  3. Set your TV's audio settings to "External Speakers" and "PCM" or "Bitstream" output.

Tip: Remove the protective caps from the optical cable ends before connecting.

Connecting Other Devices

You can connect devices like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or streaming boxes.

  1. Ensure the device has an optical or analog audio output.
  2. Connect directly to the corresponding input on the Bose bass module.
  3. Use the INPUT button on the remote to switch to the correct source.
  4. For multiple devices, an external audio switch may be required.

Note: The system will automatically wake when it detects an audio signal from the selected input.

Remote Control Operation

Point the remote at the bass module's front panel.

  1. Power: Turns system on/off. May also turn linked TV on/off if programmed.
  2. Volume: Adjusts loudness. Press MUTE to silence instantly.
  3. Input: Toggles between OPTICAL and ANALOG audio sources.
  4. Dialogue: Press to enhance vocal clarity; press again to return to standard mode.

WARNING! Keep remote away from moisture. Replace batteries when performance weakens.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug system from power before cleaning. Wipe bass module and satellite speakers with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or chemical cleaners.

CAUTION! Do not allow liquids to enter ports or vents. Keep speaker grilles free of dust.

Troubleshooting
