Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Choose a stable location for the Acoustimass module and desired positions for cube speakers.

  1. Place Acoustimass module: Position near your TV or entertainment center, not inside an enclosed cabinet.
  2. Position cube speakers: Place on shelves, stands, or mount on walls using included hardware. Ensure they are at ear level when seated.
  3. Connect cube speakers: Use the provided color-coded cables to connect each cube speaker to the Acoustimass module.
  4. Connect power: Plug the Acoustimass module into a standard AC outlet.

WARNING! The Acoustimass module is heavy; lift with care. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on.

First-Time Setup

Power on the system; the status LED will illuminate.

  1. Connect audio source: Use the provided audio cable to connect your TV's audio output (optical or analog) to the corresponding input on the Acoustimass module.
  2. Power sequence: Turn on your TV and other source devices first, then the Cinemate GS 2 system.
  3. Initial sound check: Play audio from your TV. The system should automatically detect the signal and produce sound.
  4. Adjust volume: Use the remote or the control on the Acoustimass module to set a comfortable listening level.

CAUTION! Do not place cube speakers directly on top of the TV or in enclosed spaces, as this may affect sound quality.

Controls and Settings

Primary controls are located on the universal remote. The Acoustimass module has a power button and status LED.

Remote Functions: POWER, VOLUME UP/DOWN, MUTE, INPUT SELECT (for switching between connected sources).

System Settings: The system is pre-configured for optimal performance. No user-adjustable equalizer or tone controls are provided, as Bose tuning is built-in. The auto-wake feature can be disabled via a specific remote sequence (see advanced operation).

Connecting Devices

Connect your TV and other audio sources (Blu-ray player, game console, streaming device) to the Acoustimass module.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. For best audio quality, use the optical digital audio input for your TV or Blu-ray player.
  3. For analog devices, use the provided RCA audio cable to connect to the analog input.
  4. Select the correct input on the system using the INPUT button on the remote.

System Operation

The system is designed for simple, automatic operation.

  1. Power On: Press POWER on the remote. The status LED will light.
  2. Volume Control: Use VOLUME UP/DOWN on the remote. The system has a wide range to accommodate quiet dialogue and loud action scenes.
  3. Mute: Press MUTE to temporarily silence audio. Press again or adjust volume to restore sound.
  4. Input Selection: If multiple sources are connected, press INPUT to cycle through them.
  5. Auto-Wake: When the system is in standby (LED off), it will automatically turn on when it detects an audio signal from the selected input.

WARNING! Do not operate the system at extremely high volume levels for prolonged periods, as this may cause hearing damage or speaker overload.

Remote Control

Universal remote controls system functions and can be programmed to control basic functions of your TV.

Programming the Remote (for TV control): 1. Turn on your TV. 2. Press and hold the TV button on the remote until the status light blinks twice. 3. Enter the 3-digit code for your TV brand (see code list in appendix). 4. Point the remote at the TV and press POWER. The TV should turn off. 5. Test volume and mute controls.

Battery Installation: Open battery compartment, insert two AAA batteries observing polarity, and close the cover.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the system from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the Acoustimass module and cube speakers. Do not use liquids, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to enter any openings. Keep the system away from excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.
