Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Choose a stable location for the bass module and desired positions for the cube speakers.

  1. Place the Acoustimass bass module: Position away from corners for optimal bass response.
  2. Position cube speakers: Place at ear level, ideally to the left and right of the listening area.
  3. Connect cube speakers: Use provided speaker wire to connect each cube to the bass module terminals.
  4. Connect power: Plug the system power module into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  5. Connect audio source: Use RCA cables to connect your receiver, amplifier, or source to the bass module inputs.

WARNING! Ensure all connections are secure and correct polarity is observed (red to red, black to black). Do not place bass module in enclosed cabinets.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on your audio source and the Bose system.

  1. Power sequence: Turn on your audio source (receiver, etc.) first, then ensure the Bose system is powered.
  2. Initial sound check: Play audio at a low volume to confirm all speakers are working.
  3. Balance adjustment: Use your receiver's balance control to ensure sound is even between left and right.
  4. Bass level: Adjust the bass level control on the Acoustimass module to suit your room and preference.

CAUTION! Avoid playing audio at maximum volume initially. Allow components to acclimate.

Controls and Connections

Primary control is via your connected audio source (receiver, remote). Bass module features a level control.

Bass Module: Input jacks (L/R RCA), Speaker wire terminals (for cubes), Bass level control knob, Power connector.

System Power Module: AC plug, DC output to bass module.

Note: Volume, source selection, and tone adjustments are made through your connected pre-amplifier or receiver.

Connecting Audio Sources

Connect to any device with a line-level audio output (stereo RCA).

  1. Turn off all equipment before making connections.
  2. Connect RCA cables from your source's AUDIO OUT (Pre-Out, Tape Out, etc.) to the INPUT jacks on the Bose bass module.
  3. Ensure left/right channels are correct.
  4. For best results, use high-quality interconnects.

Tip: If using with an AV receiver, connect to the receiver's front left/right pre-amplifier outputs.

Operation and Listening

For optimal performance, follow these guidelines.

  1. Power on: Always power on your source/receiver before the Bose system.
  2. Volume: Control volume from your source or receiver. Start at low levels.
  3. Bass adjustment: Use the knob on the bass module to blend bass with your room acoustics.
  4. Speaker placement: Experiment with cube placement to achieve the desired soundstage.
  5. Power off: Turn off the Bose system after turning off your source/receiver.

WARNING! Do not drive the system into audible distortion. This can damage speakers.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the system from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe exterior surfaces. Do not use liquids or chemical cleaners on speakers or bass module.

CAUTION! Keep liquids away from all components. Do not open any enclosures. Service should be performed by qualified personnel only.
