Installation Guidelines

Proper placement is critical for optimal acoustic performance. Unpack all components and inspect for damage.

  1. Bass Module Placement: Place along a wall, preferably in a corner, but not directly against it (leave 2-4 inches gap). Do not place inside an enclosed cabinet.
  2. Satellite Placement: Front L/R: Place at ear level, toed-in slightly towards listening position. Center: Above or below TV, aimed at listener. Surrounds: Mount on side/rear walls slightly above ear level.
  3. Connect Interface Harness: Route the multi-conductor cable from the bass module to each satellite location. Ensure connectors are fully seated and locked.
  4. Connect to AV Receiver: Use a single RCA cable from receiver's LFE/Subwoofer Pre-out to the "LFE Input" on bass module.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the detachable power cord into the bass module and a grounded AC outlet.

WARNING! The bass module is heavy. Use proper lifting technique. Ensure all connections are made with the system powered OFF.

Wiring & Connections

Detailed connection diagram for the proprietary interface harness.

  1. Bass Module Output Port: Multi-pin female connector. Align harness connector key and push until it clicks.
  2. Satellite Inputs: Each satellite has a male connector. Connect the corresponding branch of the harness.
  3. AV Receiver Connection: Single RCA cable from receiver's LFE/Sub Out to bass module's "LFE IN".
  4. Power: Connect the IEC power cord firmly.

Tip: Label harness branches during installation for easier identification (FL, FR, C, SL, SR, etc.).

Controls & Indicators

The bass module typically features a minimal control set.

Rear Panel: Power Switch, LFE Input Level Control, Phase Switch (0/180), Auto-On/Standby Switch, Status LED (Green/Amber).

Status LED Indicators: Solid Green = Power On. Flashing Green = Signal detected, amp active. Amber/Red = Standby/Protection Mode (check connections/overheating).

Operation: Set "Auto-On" to enable automatic activation via signal sensing. Adjust "LFE Level" to match receiver's subwoofer output level during calibration.

Initial Setup & Calibration

After physical installation, configure your AV receiver.

  1. Power on the AV receiver and bass module.
  2. Access receiver's speaker setup menu. Set all main speakers to "SMALL".
  3. Set subwoofer to "YES" or "LFE+Main".
  4. 4. Set crossover frequency on receiver to [e.g., 80Hz-100Hz] or as recommended.
  5. Run the receiver's auto-calibration routine (e.g., Audyssey, YPAO) with the included microphone placed at the primary listening position.
  6. Manually verify levels and distance settings post-calibration. Adjust bass module's "LFE Level" if overall bass is too low/high.

CAUTION! During calibration, ensure the room is quiet. Do not touch the microphone.

Operational Modes

The system operates based on signals from the connected AV receiver.

Troubleshooting Flowcharts

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
No sound from any speakerPower/Basic ConnectionsCheck bass module power switch and LED. Verify harness is fully connected at bass module. Ensure AV receiver is on and set to correct input.
No sound from one satelliteHarness/Speaker FaultSwap the suspect satellite's harness connection with a working one at the bass module port. If problem moves, fault is in harness branch. If problem stays, fault is in satellite.
No bass outputReceiver Settings/CableVerify receiver subwoofer setting is "ON". Check RCA cable from receiver to bass module. Ensure LFE Level control on bass module is not at minimum.
Distorted sound/BuzzingOverload/InterferenceReduce receiver's subwoofer output level. Ensure RCA cables are away from power cords. Check for loose connections in harness.
Bass module LED is Amber/RedProtection ModePower off module, disconnect harness. Check for shorted wires or damaged satellite. Reconnect, power on. If fault persists, internal amp fault likely.

Disassembly & Component Access

For qualified technicians only. Disconnect AC power before any service.

  1. Bass Module Grille Removal: Typically secured with clips or screws. Gently pry off or unscrew.
  2. Chassis Access: Remove rear panel screws. Slide chassis out of enclosure carefully, noting wire connections.
  3. Satellite Disassembly: Remove fabric grille (magnetic). Unscrew front baffle to access drivers. Note wiring polarity.
  4. Driver Replacement: Desolder/snip wires, noting +/-. Install new driver, solder wires observing polarity.
  5. Amplifier Board Access: In bass module, the amp board is mounted to a heatsink. Disconnect all connectors before removing board.

WARNING! Internal capacitors can hold charge. Allow time to discharge or use proper safety procedures.
