Specifications

Controls and Connections

This is a passive speaker system. All volume, source selection, and processing controls are located on your AV receiver.

Bass Module Connections: Input terminals (from receiver), Output terminals (to cube speakers).

Cube Speaker Connections: Proprietary cable connector.

AV Receiver Settings: Configure your receiver's speaker setup menu to "Small" for all speakers and set the crossover frequency to 100Hz or 120Hz. Set subwoofer to "No" or "None" as the bass is handled by the Acoustimass module.

Connecting to Your AV Receiver

Proper connection to your receiver is critical for performance and safety.

  1. Turn OFF and unplug your AV receiver.
  2. Identify the speaker output terminals on your receiver (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R).
  3. Using standard speaker wire, connect these terminals to the corresponding INPUT terminals on the back of the Acoustimass bass module. Observe polarity (+ to +, - to -).
  4. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

Tip: Use high-quality, 16-gauge or thicker speaker wire for the runs from the receiver to the bass module for best results.

Speaker Placement Guide

Optimal placement maximizes the Direct/Reflecting sound technology.

  1. Front Left/Right Speakers: Place on either side of your TV/video screen, slightly angled toward the primary listening position.
  2. Center Speaker: Place directly above or below your TV, aimed at ear level.
  3. Surround Speakers: Place to the sides or slightly behind the listening area, mounted on walls or stands. They can be aimed directly at listeners or towards walls for reflection.
  4. Acoustimass Bass Module: Place on the floor near a wall or in a corner. Experiment with placement for the smoothest bass response in your room.

WARNING! When wall-mounting cube speakers, use only the provided hardware and ensure the wall can support the weight. Secure cables to avoid tripping hazards.

Initial Calibration & Testing

After connections are made, test the system.

  1. Power on your AV receiver and source components.
  2. Play a movie or music with known surround sound.
  3. Use your receiver's test tone function to verify each speaker (Front L, Front R, Center, Surround L, Surround R) is working correctly.
  4. Adjust the individual channel levels on your receiver so that the test tone sounds equally loud from the primary listening position.

Note: The Acoustimass module will reproduce all bass from channels set to "Small." No separate subwoofer level adjustment is needed on the speaker itself.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug your AV receiver before cleaning any part of the speaker system.

Clean cube speakers and bass module with a dry, soft cloth. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use solvents, abrasives, or chemical cleaners.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to enter any openings on the speakers or module. Do not use pressurized air to clean the bass module ports.
