Placement Guidelines

Proper placement is critical for optimal sound performance.

  1. Acoustimass Module: Place on floor against a wall, in a corner, or under furniture. Do not place inside an enclosed cabinet. Keep at least 6 inches from walls for ventilation.
  2. Cube Speakers: Mount at ear level when seated, 6-12 feet apart. Aim speakers toward listening area. Can be placed on shelves, mounted on walls using included brackets, or on optional Bose stands.
  3. General: Ensure all cables can reach connections without strain. Avoid placing cubes directly behind obstructions.

WARNING! The module is heavy. Use proper lifting technique or get assistance.

Connecting to Your Receiver

Turn off and unplug your receiver before making any connections.

  1. Connect the module interconnect cable from the "From Receiver" jack on the module to the front left/right speaker outputs on your receiver.
  2. Connect the left cube speaker: Run one speaker cable from the "Left" output on the module to the left cube speaker. Match striped wire to "+" terminal.
  3. Connect the right cube speaker: Run the second cable from the "Right" output on the module to the right cube speaker. Match striped wire to "+" terminal.
  4. Ensure all connections are secure and not touching each other.

CAUTION! Never connect the module directly to a receiver's subwoofer or LFE output. Use only the front speaker outputs.

System Setup & Calibration

After connections, power on your receiver and configure settings.

  1. Set receiver speaker setting to "Large" or "Full Range" for front channels. Do not set to "Small".
  2. Set subwoofer/LFE output to "OFF" or "No Sub".
  3. Play audio at moderate volume. The system is now active.
  4. Fine-tune balance using your receiver's channel level (dB) adjustments if sound seems uneven.

Tip: For home theater, ensure center and surround speakers are set to "Small" if present, with crossover around 80-100Hz.

Specifications

Controls & Operation

The system has no user controls on the speakers or module. All volume, source selection, and tone adjustments are made through your audio/video receiver.

Receiver Controls: Use your receiver's volume, balance, tone (bass/treble), and input selector.

System Behavior: The Acoustimass module operates automatically when signal is present. It may produce a soft click when turning on/off with your receiver. This is normal.

For Music: Select stereo or direct mode on your receiver for pure 2-channel playback.

For Movies: Use receiver's Dolby Digital or DTS decoding mode. Ensure center and surround channels are properly configured.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug system from power before cleaning.

  1. Cubes & Module: Wipe with dry, soft cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen cloth slightly with water. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  2. Grilles: Do not remove grilles from cube speakers. Clean with soft brush or vacuum with brush attachment.
  3. Cables: Inspect periodically for damage. Keep away from heat sources and foot traffic.

CAUTION! Never allow liquids to enter speaker openings. Do not place objects on top of the module or cubes.
