Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the system and all accessories from the packaging. Choose an appropriate location.

  1. Inspect contents: Ensure Acoustic Wave CD-3000 unit, remote control, batteries, power cord, and owner's manual are present.
  2. Choose location: Place on a stable, level surface such as a shelf, table, or desk.
  3. Positioning: For optimal sound, allow at least 2 inches of clearance on all sides and avoid placing inside a closed cabinet.
  4. Avoid heat/moisture: Keep away from radiators, heat registers, stoves, and humid areas.

WARNING! The unit is heavy for its size. Use caution when lifting and placing to avoid injury or damage.

Initial Setup and Power

Connect power and perform initial configuration.

  1. Connect Power: Plug the power cord firmly into the AC inlet on the back of the unit, then into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
  2. First Power On: Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote. The display will illuminate.
  3. Set the Clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button. Use the TUNE/TIME SET buttons to adjust hours and minutes. Press CLOCK again to set.
  4. Initialize Radio Presets: Tune to a desired station using TUNE buttons, then press and hold a PRESET button (1-6) to store it.

Front Panel and Remote Control

Primary controls are on the front panel and remote. Front Panel: POWER, CD OPEN/CLOSE, VOLUME knob, TUNE/TIME SET, PRESET 1-6, CLOCK, ALARM ON/OFF, BAND (AM/FM), FUNCTION (CD/AUX/TUNER).

Remote: POWER, Numeric buttons (0-9, +10), VOLUME UP/DOWN, MUTE, TRANSPORT (PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, SKIP), TUNE UP/DOWN, BAND, FUNCTION, CLOCK, ALARM, PRESET, SLEEP.

Basic Operation: Select source (CD, TUNER, AUX) with FUNCTION button. Adjust volume with knob or remote. For radio, use TUNE or PRESET buttons. For CD, load disc and press PLAY.

Connecting External Devices

Use the AUXILIARY INPUT for external audio sources like smartphones, tablets, or portable music players.

  1. Locate the 3.5mm AUX INPUT jack on the back panel of the unit.
  2. Using a standard 3.5mm stereo cable (not included), connect the headphone output of your device to the AUX INPUT jack.
  3. Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel or remote until "AUX" appears on the display.
  4. Start playback on your external device and adjust volume using the Bose system's volume control.

Tip: For best sound quality, set your external device's volume to about 75% and use the Bose system's volume control for final adjustment.

Playing CDs and Using the Tuner

Supports standard audio CDs, CD-R, and CD-RW discs.

  1. Insert disc: Press CD OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up in the tray, press button again to close.
  2. Play: Press PLAY. Use SKIP (>>| and |<<) to go to next or previous tracks.
  3. Pause/Stop: Press PAUSE to temporarily halt playback; press PLAY to resume. Press STOP to stop playback.
  4. Random/Repeat: Press RANDOM (or SHUFFLE) on remote to play tracks in random order. Press REPEAT to continuously repeat a track or all tracks.
  5. Radio Operation: Press FUNCTION for TUNER. Select AM or FM with BAND button. Tune manually with TUNE buttons or recall a preset by pressing PRESET 1-6.
  6. Setting Presets: Tune to desired station. Press and hold a PRESET button (1-6) until the display confirms.

WARNING! Do not force the CD tray open or closed. Keep fingers away from the tray mechanism.

Clock and Alarm Functions

The system features a digital clock with two independent alarms (ALARM 1 & ALARM 2).

  1. Setting an Alarm: Press and hold the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button. Use TUNE/TIME SET to adjust the alarm time. Press the ALARM button again to set.
  2. Selecting Alarm Source: While setting the alarm time, press the FUNCTION button to choose the wake-up source: Buzzer, Radio (last station played), or CD.
  3. Activating/Deactivating: Press the ALARM ON/OFF button to toggle the selected alarm on or off. An icon will appear on the display when an alarm is active.
  4. Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button on the remote for 9 more minutes of sleep.

Care and Maintenance

Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

CD Lens Care: If CD playback becomes erratic, a commercially available CD lens cleaning disc may be used occasionally.

CAUTION! Never allow liquid to enter the unit through vents or openings. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
