Installation & Placement

Unpack and inspect contents. Place speakers on stable surface or mount securely.

  1. Room Placement: For best sound, place speakers along the longer wall of the room, angled slightly inward toward listening area.
  2. Distance from Walls: Position at least 6-12 inches from rear and side walls to optimize bass response and reflection.
  3. Height: Place at ear level when seated for optimal tweeter performance.
  4. Mounting: Use appropriate brackets if wall-mounting; ensure secure attachment to studs.

WARNING! Speakers are heavy; lift with care using two people. Ensure placement is stable to prevent tipping.

First-Time Setup

Connect speakers to amplifier/receiver; power on system.

  1. Identify Left/Right: Mark or note which speaker is left and right for proper stereo imaging.
  2. Connect Wires: Use high-quality speaker wire; strip ends and connect to binding posts (red to +, black to -).
  3. Amplifier Connection: Connect opposite ends to amplifier's speaker outputs, matching polarity.
  4. Test Sound: Play audio at low volume to ensure both speakers are working correctly.

CAUTION! Ensure amplifier is off when connecting wires to avoid short circuits or damage.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

No active controls on speaker. All adjustments made via amplifier/receiver.

Binding Posts: Red (+) and black (-) for speaker wire connection. Accept bare wire, spade lugs, or banana plugs (where permitted).

Grille Removal: Gently pull grille from corners to remove for cleaning or inspection; press back into place.

Amplifier Settings: Adjust volume, balance, tone (bass/treble) on amplifier for desired sound. Use amplifier's room correction if available.

Connecting to Amplifiers

Compatible with most stereo amplifiers and AV receivers.

  1. Turn off and unplug amplifier before connecting.
  2. Use 16-gauge or thicker speaker wire for runs over 20 feet.
  3. Connect one speaker to left channel, other to right channel, ensuring consistent polarity.
  4. Secure connections; avoid loose strands that could cause short circuits.

Tip: For bi-wiring (if supported), remove jumper bars on binding posts and use separate cables for woofers and tweeters.

Operation & Sound Adjustment

Optimize sound through placement and amplifier settings.

  1. Angling: Adjust speaker angle to direct primary reflection toward listening position.
  2. Distance: Experiment with distance from walls to balance bass and soundstage.
  3. Amplifier Settings: Use tone controls to adjust bass/treble to room acoustics.
  4. Volume: Operate within amplifier's power rating to avoid distortion or damage.
  5. Break-in: Allow 20-30 hours of play at moderate volume for drivers to settle.

WARNING! Do not exceed amplifier's power rating; clipping can damage speakers.

Care & Maintenance

Dust with soft, dry cloth. For grille, use vacuum with brush attachment gently.

CAUTION! Do not use liquids, solvents, or abrasives on cabinet or grille. Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
