Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose appropriate outdoor location.

  1. Select mounting location: Choose wall, ceiling, or horizontal surface with proper support.
  2. Prepare mounting surface: Ensure surface is stable and can support speaker weight.
  3. Mount bracket: Use provided hardware to secure mounting bracket to surface.
  4. Attach speaker: Slide speaker onto bracket and secure with locking knob.
  5. Connect speaker wires: Use weather-resistant 16-gauge or thicker speaker wire.

WARNING! Ensure mounting surface is structurally sound. Use appropriate tools and hardware for installation.

First-Time Setup

Connect speakers to audio amplifier/receiver.

  1. Position speakers: Place speakers at ear level when seated, 8-20 feet apart for optimal stereo imaging.
  2. Connect to amplifier: Use speaker wire to connect each speaker to amplifier's left and right channels.
  3. Secure connections: Ensure wire connections are tight and protected from weather.
  4. Test system: Play audio at low volume to verify proper connection and sound quality.
  5. Adjust positioning: Fine-tune speaker angle using Articulated Array design for best coverage.

CAUTION! Ensure amplifier is turned off when making connections to prevent damage.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

No active controls on speakers. All control through connected amplifier/receiver.

Speaker Terminals: 5-way binding posts accept bare wire, spade lugs, banana plugs, or pin connectors.

Mounting Adjustments: Locking knob for secure mounting, adjustable angle for optimal sound direction.

Wire Connections: Red terminal for positive (+), black terminal for negative (-). Ensure proper polarity for best performance.

Connecting to Audio Sources

Connect to stereo amplifier, AV receiver, or multi-zone audio system.

  1. Turn off amplifier before making connections.
  2. Strip 1/2 inch (12mm) of insulation from speaker wire ends.
  3. Connect positive wire to red terminal, negative wire to black terminal.
  4. Ensure connections are tight and secure.
  5. Use weatherproof wire connectors if exposed to elements.
  6. Route wires safely away from foot traffic and potential damage.

Tip: Use outdoor-rated speaker wire (16-gauge minimum) for best performance and durability.

Operation Guidelines

For optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Power on sequence: Turn on amplifier first, then audio source.
  2. Volume control: Adjust volume at amplifier, not at speakers.
  3. Sound adjustment: Use amplifier's tone controls if needed.
  4. Multiple speakers: For multi-zone setups, ensure amplifier can handle total impedance load.
  5. Seasonal use: Speakers can remain installed year-round in most climates.
  6. Performance monitoring: Listen for distortion which may indicate amplifier clipping.

WARNING! Do not exceed recommended amplifier power to prevent speaker damage.

Weather Resistance Features

Designed for outdoor durability.

Note: While weather-resistant, avoid direct exposure to sprinklers or submersion in water.

Care & Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures long-term performance.

  1. Cleaning: Use soft cloth with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Grille cleaning: Remove dust with soft brush or compressed air.
  3. Wire inspection: Check connections annually for corrosion or damage.
  4. Mounting hardware: Inspect and tighten annually if needed.
  5. Winter care: No special winterization needed for most climates.

CAUTION! Do not use high-pressure water spray. Do not apply lubricants to moving parts.
